From the desk of the Chairman of Paschimbanga Natya Akademi, I convey my greetings to all Theatre groups, Theatre workers and Theatre enthusiasts of West Bengal. Paschimbanga Natya Akademi encourages any kind of theatre oriented activities in West Bengal and preservation of that culture. That is our main objective. Also we encourage practice of Dramatic art even in remote corners of the state and provide financial support as much as possible. The main building of Paschimbanga Natya Akademi has an exhaustive library and an outlet to sell books. There is an auditorium called ‘Tripti Mitra Natyagriha’, for production, rehearsal and other activities related to theatre and drama which is available at a low cost.

Till date there was a very little scope for a person to know about Paschimbanga Natya Akademi and its different activities. This website has been introduced to reduce that gap. We hope that this endeavour will meet the demands of theatre activists, theatre enthusiasts and research scholars.

We further hope that the theatre heritage of this state will reach to its zenith with Paschimbanga Natya Akademi. We are soliciting for everyone's cooperation and participation in our future activities.
